Senator O'Leary and Rep. Peake Hold Office Hours in Harwich

July 24 - Senator Robert O’Leary (D-Barnstable) and Representative Sarah Peake (D-4th Barnstable) will be holding district office hours on Friday, July 24th from 1:30 pm to 2:30pm at Harwich Community Center, Activity Room #4, located at 100 Oak St. in Harwich.

Senate Votes on Allowing Non-Profits to Protect Their Bottom Line 

June 11, 2009 - The Senate today voted unanimously in support of Senate Bill 2078, the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA). 36 states have passed similar legislation, which raises the threshold of responsibility for non-profits in managing their assets, while providing greater flexibility to these organizations in managing their endowments.

March 12 - Senate President Therese Murray and Senator Robert O’Leary (D-Barnstable) announced today that a total of $1,308,614 in grants have been awarded to Cape Cod communities as well as Barnstable and Dukes Counties to support their 911 emergency dispatch communications centers and enhance public safety.

April 16 - Today, Senator Robert A. O’Leary, along with several other Senators from Southeastern Massachusetts sent a letter to the Chairman of the Senate Post Audit and Oversight Committee, Senator Marc Pacheco, requesting an investigation of the cost to rate payers of the continued operation of the Mirant Canal Plant.
